Crossfit Fort Ashton
CrossFit Fort Ashton provide a range of functional fitness classes for people of all abilities to enjoy.
The Brief
Dan at CrossFit Fort-Ashton approached us after noticing design features that had been utilised at a NEW CrossFit box, designed by Moduflex Custom Rigs.
With membership and classes growing rapidly, and no option to relocate to a bigger space, Dan recognised an opportunity to create more floor space by repositioning the rig, and suspending pull up bars from the ceiling. Dan loved the ‘naked’ raw steel finish of the pull up bars, and the impact this had on aesthetics. In addition, eight wall ball targets were installed above the squat stations without compromising the existing setup.
The Design
Whilst the rig is an integral part of the set-up at any CrossFit box, its fixed nature can often prohibit retrospective adjustments that might be necessary as a result of growing membership or an increase in class sizes. Our design team worked closely with Dan, resulting in rig space capacity being increased overall. Even when a WOD requires barbells or rowers, an additional four to six people can work comfortably within the new set up.
The Result
The adjustments have facilitated a better flow of classes, with more space per member during workouts, but also the ability to run open gym alongside classes when necessary, without disruption or compromise.
